Young or old, who doesn’t want a styled birthday party when Peter Rabbit is involved.
This particular birthday party we styled was for twin boys who were turning one. Our client wanted the theme to be stylish rather than childish because the majority of the guests were grown ups. Of course it still needed to have an element of fun.
The key feature of this styled birthday party was the twin cakes. We used the cute vegetable patch garden at Camperdown Commons for our back drop and added a fun balloon garland and hanging flowers. The themed cakes were raised on wine barrels and decorated. We also included gluten free themed cupcakes, so that no one missed out.
For the colour palette we took inspiration from the colours of the Peter Rabbit story book and his veggie patch. This meant lots of shades of blue, green, yellow and orange.
For the guest tables we added some cute craft elements and styling to bring the Peter Rabbit theme to life. Our flowers were made to look like blooming little gardens out of watering cans. On Esty we found some old nursery rhyme cards that we made into colourful garden stakes and included them in the flowers. And we didn’t stop there – upping the anti on Peter’s garden, we added fun, vibrant veggies to the table. The radishes worked a treat to add a slash of colour. We also seem to have a thing for artichoke hearts. They always make their way in to our styling and florals because they so interesting to look at.
Of course we had to include Peter Rabbit himself. He came in the guise of Easter bunnies that we sprayed with a touch of white frosting and used throughout the styling.
