As a private party stylist in Sydney, Rainy Sunday works with a number of clients who require luxury party styling at private homes.
This summer Spotify asked us to style their summer party at a private residence in Point Piper. They wanted a Hamptons inspired style and this private harbour side location was the perfect spot.
The colour palette for our styling referenced the water view and natural stone the property was built from. We also planned the layout of the outdoor event so that everything was directed towards the beautiful sea view.
It was an outdoor event taking place during the day, with a seated lunch planned for 55 people. This meant we needed to bring everything in for the event including catering, bar service, furniture and crockery. When you plan an event at a private residence there are often considerations like limited access and time. This location had very limited access with just one set of narrow stairs down to the lawn area. It meant precision planning was key to make sure all our event partners had access at the right time to work their magic.
To set the luxury tone of the event, guest tables were covered with oversized white linen tableclothes. Each place setting was layered with a Round Sisal Placemat and coloured crockery and glassware. Striped navy napkins and lavender ribbon added the finishing luxury touch. This laying of natural materials, earthy colours and shades of blue helped to create the Hamptons style our clients wanted. It also suited the harbour side setting where the private party took place.
None of these items were overly expensive to buy and mostly sourced from stores like Kmart and IKEA. A luxury look doesn’t need a to have a big price tag. A savvy event stylist will know how to create luxury for less. To avoid any single use items and be inline with our Planet Conscious Approach to event styling, Spotify took the tableware to use in the kitchen at their office. Everything else was hired and returned.
